Finding the right pieces to make your living room look amazing is quite difficult. But that does not necessarily mean you need to spend a load of cash on a famous piece of art or an expensive showpiece. There are several affordable ways to make your living room look swank and elegant at the same time. All you need is a sense of design and the willpower to put it all together. Here are a few great ideas for a living room makeover!
One of the best ways to make your living room come alive is by having a few plants in the house. Now many people do have this in their home, but it ruins the look by placing it as a centerpiece on the coffee table or by dangling messy creepers from the ceiling. Here’s what you need to do. Get two plants or maybe three. Place one, preferably a taller, potted one by the couch. The other one can be on a pedestal or something of the sort, by the door or near the television set. Books certainly add a posh look to the living room. This neat trick makes your living room look spectacular. Don’t just strew your books here and there. Put them all in the shelves. It doesn’t have to match or anything. Just artfully arrange them so they look completely casual. Be it a bookshelf or a china cabinet, a space that is empty screams out distaste. So fill in with books everywhere. Give a few a side tilt to pull off the dream home look. If you want to go further and don’t have a vase to place on a side table, an arrangement of books will do well over there too.

Now most living rooms have an expensive urn or sculpture to spell out sassy. This is a much cheaper and sprightlier way to make the living room stand out. Yes, this is more of a DIY thing, but it can turn out to look really sheek. There are many ways you can do this: you can twist different colors of yarn around them to make it look like some sort of handicraft. You can also fill them with layers of colored sand. Add fairy lights inside to make them sparkle or just craftily arrange colored wine bottles to make it look like fine art.
4) Create Your Own Pillows Ensemble
You don’t need an expensive lounge area or a duplex couch to make this work. A few contrasting pillows and cushions are enough to do the trick. Just make sure to get two or three pillows that stand out. This doesn’t mean that you need to get three of the most bizarrely printed designs! Use one with a bold dark color, another fluffed and the smaller one can be designed.

Wall stickers are an incredibly cheap way to make your living room come alive. They come in a variety of designs and give a magical look to the entire room. You can choose from a huge number of designs on Amazon or eBay. One of these over your couch or the television set will do the trick!

But make sure that they aren’t of a bright color or stand out from the room.

Finding the perfect curtain can go a long way to boosting your room’s appeal. And extra-long curtains actually make the place look more posh. To make a statement, use a bold color that contrasts with the furniture or compliments it, no in-between. Never go for prints, because that will give an old and faded look to the room.
